#NoBraDay for Breast Cancer Awareness

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is important because about 1 in 8 U.S. women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Besides lung cancer, breast cancer is the biggest cancer diagnosis and killer of women, though the numbers have gone down due to extensive research and advanced screenings. This is great news!! The pink campaign for breast cancer has definitely brought a TON of awareness and funding towards the disease. Like any charity or donation center, make sure you are doing your research before donating. Awareness and money is important in helping to cure women (and men!) afflicted with diseases and preventing them from getting sick in the first place. This is where I will mention that Planned Parenthood does offer screenings and mammograms for early detection, which is SO important. It's also important to remember to give yourself regular breast exams. Just check out your boobs from time to time to make sure they look and feel normal. Here
